Privacy Policy

Version 2026-09-03

Effective date: September 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Extinguisher Scanner LLC handles local inspection data, account identity, subscriptions, account deletion, and app usage information for Extinguisher Scanner on iOS and Android.

Information Sent Off Device

The current app sends limited account and subscription information to the service providers described below. The data categories are:

  • Name or display name, email address, and user or account ID, processed through Supabase for account creation and management, authentication, password recovery, session security, and account identity.
  • Purchase history, including subscription status and entitlement information, and the app account ID used to associate that information, processed through RevenueCat for subscription management and app functionality.

Local-First Inspection Data

Extinguisher Scanner stores operational inspection data locally on your iOS or Android device. This may include customers, locations, extinguisher records, inspections, deficiencies, photos, reports, technician names, company profile data, settings, report branding, workflow preferences, OCR text, and local backup metadata.

This local inspection data is separate from your authenticated account. The app does not currently upload or sync it to Extinguisher Scanner cloud storage, Supabase, or RevenueCat during normal app use.

Local data may leave your device when you choose to export or share a report, export or share a local backup, attach a file to a support request, or use device-level backup or sharing features. Copies created through those actions are controlled by you and the destination you select.

Supabase and Account Identity

Supabase is the service provider used for account creation, sign-in, password recovery, account sessions, and account identity.

Supabase processes and stores the name or display name you provide, your email address, your user or account ID, and authentication or sign-in metadata needed to operate and secure account access.

Supabase does not currently store Extinguisher Scanner customers, locations, inspection records, extinguisher records, photos, or reports. Signing in does not sync that local data across devices.

Subscriptions, RevenueCat, and Store Billing

For Extinguisher Scanner on iOS, the applicable store is the Apple App Store. For Extinguisher Scanner on Android, the applicable store is Google Play.

Apple processes App Store purchases and Google processes Google Play purchases. Extinguisher Scanner LLC does not directly receive or store your full payment-card information for purchases made through those stores.

RevenueCat is the service provider used to verify subscription status and manage access to paid app features. RevenueCat processes purchase history, subscription and entitlement status, product information, and the app user or account ID needed to associate a purchase with your Extinguisher Scanner account.

Deleting an Extinguisher Scanner account does not cancel an active Apple App Store or Google Play subscription. You must manage or cancel the subscription through the store where you subscribed. Extinguisher Scanner LLC cannot cancel it on your behalf.

Apple or Google may retain billing and payment records under their own policies and legal obligations. Extinguisher Scanner LLC does not control or delete records maintained by Apple or Google.

Account Deletion

In-app account deletion is available at Settings > Advanced > Destructive Actions > Delete account. If you cannot access the app, you may request deletion at https://extinguisherscanner.com/delete-account or email support@extinguisherscanner.com from the address associated with your account. Support may need to verify account ownership.

The protected in-app process requests deletion of the RevenueCat customer record associated with the authenticated account and then deletes the Supabase authentication account, including the associated email address, account identifier, display-name metadata, and sign-in metadata. RevenueCat may complete its provider-side processing asynchronously.

The current policy does not state a fixed completion timeframe for external account-deletion requests. We do not ask for your password, authentication token, payment information, or full purchase receipt to start a request.

Account deletion instructions

Local Data After Account Deletion

Online account deletion does not remove local customers, locations, extinguisher records, inspection records, deficiencies, photos, reports, settings, or branding from your device. Extinguisher Scanner LLC cannot remotely erase local-only data.

To clear the app's local database records and settings, use Settings > Advanced > Destructive Actions > Delete local app data. This is separate from deleting the online account. Files exported, shared, saved outside the app, or retained in device backups must be removed where they are stored.

Depending on the platform and file location, uninstalling the app or clearing its device storage may also be needed to remove remaining app files. Export anything you need before deleting local data because cleared records cannot be restored by Extinguisher Scanner LLC.

Data Retention

Extinguisher Scanner LLC does not state one blanket retention period because local device data, online account deletion, and provider-controlled billing records are handled differently.

Local inspection data remains under your control on the device until you clear records in the app, uninstall the app, clear device storage, or remove other copies, subject to your device and backup settings. Account-deletion processing is described above. Apple and Google control retention of their own billing and transaction records under their policies and legal obligations.

Service Providers and Data Sharing

Supabase and RevenueCat process the limited account and subscription data described in this policy on behalf of Extinguisher Scanner LLC so the app can provide authentication and paid access.

Extinguisher Scanner LLC does not sell user data or share it with third parties for advertising or their independent use. Service-provider processing by Supabase and RevenueCat is not declared as third-party data sharing in the current Google Play Data Safety disclosure.

Photos and Inspection Records

If you capture or attach photos, those photos may be stored on the device and referenced by inspection records or reports.

Inspection records and generated reports are based on information entered, scanned, selected, confirmed, or edited by the user.

Analytics and App Usage Data

Extinguisher Scanner does not currently transmit app usage analytics to Extinguisher Scanner LLC or to a third-party analytics provider. Analytics is disabled in the current implementation.

The app contains development and testing hooks for limited workflow events, such as whether an inspection was started or completed, whether a scan succeeded, which features were used, and general workflow timing. These hooks are designed not to include serial numbers, customer names, location descriptions, inspection notes, photos, raw OCR text, email addresses, account IDs, or other customer-sensitive inspection content.

Advertising

Extinguisher Scanner does not use the device advertising ID and does not use personal or inspection data for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Security

Account and subscription data sent to Supabase and RevenueCat is encrypted in transit. Local inspection data remains subject to the security of your device, operating system, backups, and any destination where you export or share it.

No storage or transmission method is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting device access and choosing secure destinations for exported reports and backups.

Cloud Sync and Team Features

Cloud sync of inspection data, shared company workspaces, and team management are not currently included in Extinguisher Scanner.

User Responsibility for Customer Data

You are responsible for obtaining any permissions needed to enter, scan, store, export, share, or back up customer information, location information, inspection records, photos, technician names, and company profile data.

You are also responsible for reviewing exported reports and backups before sharing them outside your company.
